What size should I get for my dog?

Use his weight. S: 5–15 kg, M: 15–30 kg, L: 30–50 kg, XL: 50+ kg. When in doubt, size up.

Can I return for a different size?

Yes. Email hello@oldfriendpet.com within 30 days and we'll send you the right size at no extra cost. We pay return shipping.

Using The Lift

Will my dog tolerate wearing it?

Most dogs accept The Lift within 2-3 uses. Start with 1-minute sessions and a treat. The padded design and lack of buckles makes the first fitting much easier than traditional harnesses.

Can I use it post-surgery?

Yes. The Lift is designed for post-TPLO, hip replacement, and IVDD recovery. Always confirm timing with your vet — most vets recommend a sling for 6–12 weeks after major orthopedic surgery.

Does it work for dogs with no rear-leg use at all?

Yes for short distances and stairs. For dogs who can't bear any weight, we recommend pairing The Lift with a wheeled mobility cart for longer walks. Email us and we'll help you decide.

How long can my dog wear it?

For walks and short trips: as long as needed. For continuous wear during recovery: we recommend taking it off every 2-3 hours to check skin and coat.

Care & Cleaning

How do I clean it?

Machine wash cold, lay flat to dry. Removable padding for spot cleaning. The neoprene resists most stains.

Does it ever wear out?

The Lift is built to last as long as you need it. With normal use, expect years of service. Reinforced webbing and double-stitched seams.
